DAY TEN

Today, Monday 8th May is day ten and those already ridden today will have reach a third of the way through the challenge. The weather for the afternoon looks decidedly wet so hopefully a good number of you managed to get around earlier without getting too wet.

 

WHEELY TYRED – DAY SALON PROMOTIONS

Rachael Day of Wheely Tyred and also of THE DAY SALON has arranged some special treatments and delivery service to add to the fundraising of TEAM WHEELY TYRED. Please circulate the offers below to friends and family. Any deliveries will be done on a cycle by Rachael and seven year old Ruby.

 

DAMBUSTERS IN HOLLAND

Susie Brown, Michelle Vermeulen, Liz Van de Velde and Cathy Perkins, AKA The Dam busters, are cycling around parts Holland. Further news and report on their trip next week.

BLUE MAN AND FLATLINERS IN FRANCE

Nick James, Graham Rabey, Grant Mitchenall, Andre Le Clerc, Peter Van de Velde, Nick Vermeulen, Nick Brown and Dan Usher, who make up Team Flatliners and Team Blue Men are cycling in Brittany France. Further news and report on their trip next week

 

Pesky Peddlers at Le Friquet

               

                                        

Hazel, Livvy, Chantelle and Rachel, AKA Pesky Peddlers, rode static bikes at Le Friquet Garden Centre on Coronations Day Saturday 6th May. Over £500 was raised so thanks to Hazel and team for arranging, Le Friquet Garden Centre for their help and all who contributed.

Karen and Hot X Buns at Sea Front Sunday

Karen Valrley and Sam Marshal and the Hot X Buns arranged for a static bike ride to happen at the first EADBL Sea Front Sunday along the St Peter Port Seafront on Sunday 7th May.

 

CRÈME ANGLAISE – GUERNSEY AIRPORT – THURSDAY 11TH MAY – 6.00AM

The ladies from Crème Anglaise, Jo Huxtable, Nathalie Chandler, Nicola Walker, Jane England, Sophie Fowler, Sandrine Harris and Angela Brook will be up early doing a static bike ride at Guernsey Airport raising funds for their 30 Rides Challenge. If you know someone travelling on business or pleasure, make sure they know to add a few pounds to the buckets.

 

 

Jacci and Hot X Buns – Co-op Vazon SATURDAY 13TH MAY

Jacci Williams has arranged for a static bike ride at Co-op Vazon on Saturday 13th May.

30/30 Riders visit to Les Bourgs Hospice

SATURDAY 13TH CHANGED TO 11.00 AM

Liz Stonebridge, fundraising coordinator for Les Bourgs Hospice, has invited any 30/30 rider who wishes to see how and what the fundraising can do to a special tour of the hospice with her and Hospice Director Jo Boyd. It is a very special place and I urge anyone who has or hasn’t been before to go and have a look. The dates available are Saturday 13th at 11.00 am and Saturday 20th May at 10.30 am. Woodies Coffee Shops are kindly donating 5 pence for every cup of coffee sold during the thirty day challenge. If you are thirsty whilst cycling then perfect stop for a refreshing cup of coffee of chocolate. PLEASE take any photos you can. ONLY FOOLS AND DONKEYS – 30/60/90 SPORTIVE

Matt Collas and the Only Fools and Donkeys Team have organised a 30/60/90 Sportive to take place on Sunday 21st May with all routes starting from KGV Sportsfield. All funds raised will go to OFAD 30/30 Fundraising.  Refreshements on the day sponsored by M&S.

WEATHER FOR WEEK TWO

GOING TO BE A RAINY FIRST HALF TO THIS WEEK

This week’s forecast is not too great for cycling, particularly the first half. If you can get todays ride in this morning that would be a good idea as from mid afternoon the chances of rain increase to above 90%.
